The San Francisco Youth Unity Eco-Fest

June 6, 2009 | Civic Center Park, San Francisco

We would like to invite you to participate in a groundbreaking environmental youth event in San Francisco this June 6, 2009 at the Civic Center Park in front of City Hall. The San Francisco Youth Unity Eco-Fest will be a daylong Environmental Summit and Green Block Party celebrating youth voice & power, raising awareness around environmental justice and connecting communities across the city! This inspiring day of learning and celebration is being entirely planned BY YOUTH, FOR YOUTH! The Youth Planning Committee is a group of 11 powerhouse SF High School Students recruited through the Environmental Service Learning Initiative (ESLI, a collaborative project lead by Global Exchange and Community Education Services) and the Youth Unity Coalition for Action Now (YU-CAN).

Targeting community members and youth ages 14-18, the day will consist of workshops, a resource fair, a skate village (fossil fuel alternative transportation!), an award ceremony, an emcee battle, interactive booths, a showcase of student projects, networking, food, DJs and a variety of music and dance performances.

We want everyone to walk away from the Eco-fest knowing how they can help the environment and feel inspired to participate in the green movement!
